     Cal Mayo, a graduate of the University of Virginia School of Law, primarily focuses his practice in civil trial and appellate litigation and dispute resolution. He also provides general legal counsel to corporate and individual clients. Mr. Mayo practiced law in Jackson, Mississippi, for over six years before accepting appointment as the Associate University Attorney at the University of Mississippi in 1996. He returned to private practice in 1997. Mr. Mayo is listed in Best Lawyers in America in the area of Commercial Litigation.

     Mr. Mayo's practice generally includes business and commercial litigation, constitutional and corporate law, patent infringement, antitrust litigation, shareholder dispute resolution, products liability, complex tort litigation and general insurance defense. He has served as lead counsel for plaintiffs or defendants in numerous jury and bench trials.

     As a result of his experience as Associate University Attorney, Mr. Mayo has broadened his practice to include education law, employment and employment discrimination, contract negotiation and construction law. Mr. Mayo has represented seven of the eight public universities in Mississippi and several of the private colleges. He has spoken at several national, regional and local conferences and workshops on higher education legal issues

     Mr. Mayo was graduated magna cum laude with a Bachelors of Accountancy from the University of Mississippi in 1986 and received his juris doctor in 1989 from the University of Virginia. He is a member of the National Association of College and University Attorneys, the Fifth Circuit Bar Association and numerous local, state and national bar associations and committees.

     Mr. Mayo is married to the former Caroline Connell Salmon of Clarksdale, Mississippi. They have four children. An avid runner, Mr. Mayo has completed several marathons and half-marathons.
